I'm Kris and about 6 months ago I purchased a 2007 sms
I traveled 2 hours in the car too get the bike and then rode 3 hours home on her back to my house! When I purchased the bike the ignition was wrecked with no keys and the clocks only partially worked on the ride home the screen and lights all died which left me driving home in the dark following my brothers rear lights
After some fiddling I found all 3 fuse holders have had thick copper wire inserted and no fuses!!
And the power valve would open and close randomly when driving and not as it should
Since I have had the bike I have replaced the fuses, and replaced the clocks and ignition
The power valve still didn't work, Infact when you Rev the engine high the motor would do a full 360 and stop again
I then purchased a power valve controler which was listed for a 2007 but it turns out my bike has a cdi and power valve controller all in one! So I will send back the power valve controller and get a new motor and servo ubit instead
Il post up a few pics of my model, maybe some of you guys can help as there's very very few of these bikes in the uk and the Husqvarna sellers over hear know very little about these on road models only the offroad cr/wr models.
The bike it self has a fmf fatty pipe from a cr and a power core silencer and sounds and goes brilliant. Iv also dropped the rear sprocket down to 45 I think
