benjamin has it correct about the heat cycles,is why you should use warmers with slicks,they can also suffer from cold tears which is not what you want at all

warmers are definitely essential for a race slick,i use pirelli or metzeler on my gsxr and they are awesome,however i have goldspeed road legal cut slick on the 570 and no warmers are required,but if i was on track iwould still prefer to use the warmers any day
